Overview:

iQuantum is seeking a passionate and driven People Operations Director to join our dynamic team. They will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the company, touching upon multiple disciplines such as HR, Communications, Executive Management, and Business Operations. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of people operations experience in a startup environment and a proven record of getting things done. They will provide vital support to the organization’s talent goals and business partnership in aspects of human resources (HR), recruiting, organizational development, culture, and employee happiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement human resources programs by providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health, and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, compliance, and labor relations; completing personnel transactions.
  • Responsible for payroll processing and providing functional support for incentive programs.
  • Champion collaborative cross-functional relationships with Recruiting, Payroll/Accounting, Finance, other teams, and hiring managers to ensure the successful onboarding and offboarding of new employees.
  • Build hiring, on-boarding, off-boarding, employee benefit, learning and development, and other employee related company policies from the start and integrate new tools to help facilitate them.
  • Prepare executive and management reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Help establish new office space and work closely with the landlord, contractors, and vendors.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Improve organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Experience and Skills:

  • Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment with constant change as your companion; 5+ years of experience working as a People Partner, HR Manager, HR Program Manager or similar role.
  • Strong values with a clear inner core of purpose-driven leadership.
  • Strong problem solving, reporting and analytical skills. Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and analyze problems at a senior level, providing feedback, guidance, and direction.
  • A clear understanding of Human Resources practices and legal requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the critical components of a successful HR department including employment law, performance management, resolving conflict, having difficult conversations, employee engagement, training, maintaining employee files, and managing operational budgets.
  • Clear, strong verbal communication and consulting skills. Demonstrated ability to work at the senior leadership level.
  • Well-developed writing and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly across all levels of an organization.
  • Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to listen, analyze and inform appropriately while maintaining the required sensibilities in handling confidential information.
